Tainan Forts / 台南的堡

On my last day in Tainan I headed out to an area called Anping. It’s a bit out of town and it’s the location of two interesting forts. Fort Zeelandia, a Dutch fort, and the Eternal Golden Castle from the late Qing Dynasty.

After visiting these forts in the early afternoon, I busted it back to Hsinchu on the bullet train, where my friend Daisy lives. Taiwan has great trains, both high speed and normal, and their bus system is pretty nice too. Hsinchu is just south of Taipei, and not too far from the main international airport. In the evening I joined Daisy in tutoring English to two high school students, Patty and Betty. Ladies, if you’re reading this, keep practicing, you’ve got a good teacher.
